The Body of Jesus Is Taken Down from the Cross

Station XIII commemorates the poignant moment when Jesus’ lifeless body was taken down from the cross. After His death, Joseph of Arimathea, a devoted follower of Jesus, courageously sought permission from Roman authorities to remove the body. With the assistance of Nicodemus, another follower, they carefully wrapped Jesus’ body in a clean linen shroud and placed it in a tomb carved from rock. This solemn act symbolizes profound grief, reverence, and devotion as His disciples and followers mourned the loss of their Savior.
