Who Sculpted the Little Ballerina?

Who Sculpted the Little Ballerina?

The 14-year-old Little Ballerina is an important sculpture by the French Impressionist painter Edgar Degas. And, this degas dancer sculpture was created in 1878-1881. Ballet Girl Sculpture is Degas’s largest, most complex, and delicate sculpture. In addition, the sculpture became the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Art in Washington in 2002.

Among them, the bronze little dancer sculpture is about 1 meter high. The little dancer closed his eyes lightly, clasped his hands tightly, and stretched back. The dancer is immersed in the world of himself in a contemptuous and twisted gesture. It is worth mentioning that the hair and tutu of the bronze ballerina sculpture are made of real materials.

How was the Little Fourteen-Year-Old Dancer Made?

The Fourteen-Year-Old Dancer is the only sculpture on display during Degas’s lifetime. Degas first made this sculpture out of wax. After his death, Degas’ family sent the wax figure to a factory that made sculptural bronze castings. This exquisite dancer artwork is cast as a bronze sculpture. Therefore, the dancer’s sculpture has been preserved forever.

Traditional Lost Wax Method:

Artists at the YouFine factory use the traditional lost wax method to cast bronze national gallery of art. What we know best is that these particular traditional techniques have been around for five thousand years. There is no doubt that our artists have fully mastered this particular technique. And, the artists at the YouFine factory have refined the technology.

Among them, we use silica sol technology. This method helps ensure that the statue looks beautiful. Especially for top-level sculptures, white spots would not appear on the surface of sculptures after a long time of use. As a new result, YouFine’s degas little ballerina sculpture could have a long-term aesthetic.

Please believe in the strength of the artists at the YouFine factory. We have cast numerous bronze dancer sculptures for artists all over the world. They are very satisfied with our artists. If you want to cast a degas dancer sculpture, please feel free to contact us.
