This is a white Merlion fountain using natural marble as raw material. This fountain is different from the common Merlion fountain design. What Is The Behind Story Merlion?
The Merlion is a mythical creature with a lion-headed fish body and is widely used as Singapore’s mascot and national avatar. There are two Merlion statues in the park. The original Merlion structure was 8.6 meters high and spewed water from its mouth. The merlion’s fish-like body symbolizes Singapore’s origins in a fishing village called Temasek – a name that is cognate with the word task (“lake” in Malay). The head of the statue represents the city’s original name, Singapura (Lion City in Sanskrit). So Merlion fountains like this are very popular with customers in Singapore.
