The Aphrodite of Knidos statue is an ancient Greek sculpture of the goddess Aphrodite, created by Praxiteles of Athens around the 4th century BCE. It is one of the earliest life-size representations of the female nude in Greek history, demonstrating an alternative idea of the male heroic nude. Before this time, Greek god statues had been dominated by nude male figures. This famous Greek statue of Aphrodite of Praxitus is nude. She is reaching for a bath towel while covering her pubic area, which in turn leaves her breasts exposed.
