During the day, Ali and Nino stood quietly and looked at each other silently. But when night falls, Ali and Nino start moving slowly toward each other. They began to embrace, then passed through each other’s body and gradually moved away. This weather-beaten couple can only meet for 10 minutes each day.

Ali is a young Azerbaijani who believes in Islam, and Nino is a Christian princess who believes in Christianity. The two studied in a high school and fell in love after meeting each other. This 8-meter-high piece of large stainless steel sculpture was built in 2007 and was finally completed in 2010. The statue designer is Tamar Kvesitadze, who created it according to the 1937 novel-“Ali and Nino”. The novel tells the love tragedy of a Muslim boy and a Christian princess.
