YouFine’s bronze equestrian statue of Augustus replica combines a commanding Roman rider with a carefully sculpted horse. Standing 2.3 m (230 cm) high, this sculpture brings a substantial classical presence to its setting. From the clay model to bronze casting and patina finishing, our team pays close attention to the reference artwork, preserving the character of the composition and its intricate details.
A Detailed Augustus on Horseback Sculpture
This bronze Augustus equestrian statue presents the Roman figure seated upright on a horse, with a draped cloak, detailed armor, and carefully defined footwear. The horse’s lowered head and raised foreleg bring measured movement to the composition, while the rider’s composed posture gives the sculpture a strong visual presence.
The design rewards a closer look. Sculpted strands shape the horse’s mane and tail, bridle fittings frame its face, and layered folds give depth to the rider’s cloak. Decorative elements on the armor and saddle cloth add further detail without overwhelming the overall silhouette.
Careful Study Begins with the Clay Model
A convincing replica begins well before bronze casting. For this Augustus equestrian sculpture, YouFine’s team carefully compared the reference artwork throughout the clay modeling stage, studying the relationship between horse and rider as well as the smaller decorative features.
Our sculptors worked on the rider’s facial features, clothing folds, armor patterns, and hand positions alongside the horse’s proportions, musculature, and tack. Attention to both the complete composition and its individual parts helps preserve the distinctive character of the design.
Attention Through Bronze Casting and Finishing
The care invested in the clay model continues through bronze casting and surface finishing. Our team focuses on retaining the modeled details so that the finished bronze communicates the same forms, textures, and depth.
The example shown features an antique green patina. Lighter tones across raised surfaces and darker tones within recesses emphasize the horse’s muscles, the layered mane, and the folds of the cloak. This varied finish gives the sculpture an aged appearance while keeping its sculptural details visible.
A Classical Focal Point for Your Space
With its Roman subject and balanced equestrian composition, this 2.3 m tall Augustus statue offers a distinctive focal point for a formal garden, estate entrance, courtyard, or classical architectural setting.
When planning a display, consider the complete sculpture’s proportions, the viewing distance, and the relationship between the pedestal and surrounding architecture. These details help the horse and rider read clearly from both nearby paths and more distant viewpoints.
