A custom sculpture can begin with many things: a photograph of a person, an artist’s sketch, an architectural drawing, a 3D model, or simply an idea that has not yet been fully designed.
At YouFine, we turn these references into finished custom sculptures in bronze, marble and stainless steel. Our factory has been producing sculptures since 1983, and we work with private clients, artists, architects, churches, hotels, developers and public-space projects around the world.
You do not need to have every detail decided before contacting us. Send us what you already have, tell us where the sculpture will be installed and what you want it to achieve. Our team can then help you determine the suitable material, size, production method and next step.
Have a project in mind? Send us your reference images or design and we can review it with you.
What Custom Sculptures Can We Make?
Different clients come to us with very different ideas. Some need a realistic portrait of one person. Others need a group of sculptures for a park, hotel or commercial development.
Our custom sculpture service covers both one-off artworks and larger project-based production.
Custom Portrait and Memorial Sculptures
Portrait and memorial sculptures require more than simply matching the general shape of a person. Facial structure, expression, posture, clothing and small personal details all affect whether the finished sculpture feels recognizable.
We can develop portrait busts, life-size figures, military memorials, founder statues, family memorials and commemorative sculptures from photographs and other references.
For realistic portrait work, several clear images are especially useful. Front, side and three-quarter views help our sculptors understand the face and proportions before the model is approved.
If you only have photographs, you can also read our How to Make a Custom-Made Statue from a Photo guide.

Custom Figurative Sculptures
We also create custom human figures based on a specific story, pose or design.
These may include couples, children, workers, musicians, dancers, historical figures, religious figures or symbolic characters.
The pose, clothing, expression, accessories and scale can all be adjusted. For projects involving several people, we also consider how the figures relate to each other so the final composition works as one complete sculpture rather than a group of separate forms.

Custom Animal Sculptures
Horses, lions, deer, dogs, wildlife and other animals are common custom projects at our factory.
Clients may send photographs of a specific animal, choose a general pose or ask us to develop a sculpture for a garden, estate, golf course, entrance or public landscape.
For realistic bronze animals, we pay particular attention to anatomy, muscle structure, movement and surface detail. Marble can create a more classical architectural feeling, while stainless steel is often chosen for modern or geometric animal designs.

Custom Religious Sculptures
YouFine has worked on religious sculptures for churches and private clients in different countries.
We can create statues of Jesus, the Virgin Mary, saints, angels, apostles, and other religious subjects in marble or bronze.
For church projects, we normally review the intended location, scale, religious references, facial expression, clothing, and symbolic details before production. Large groups may also require planning for bases, spacing and installation.

Custom Abstract and Contemporary Sculptures
For modern architecture and landscape projects, we manufacture custom abstract and contemporary sculpture in stainless steel.
Clients often provide a rendering, sketch, 3D model, architectural drawing, or site plan. Our design and production teams can help turn the concept into a structure that can actually be fabricated, transported, and installed.
Size, internal reinforcement, stainless steel grade, surface finish, connection points, and installation conditions all need to work together.
These sculptures are commonly made for hotels, resorts, commercial developments, plazas, parks, corporate buildings, and private estates.

Large Custom Sculpture Projects
Custom sculpture does not have to mean a single life-size statue.
YouFine also works on large public art and multi-piece projects involving several sculptures, monumental dimensions or complex installation requirements.
For these projects, we can support design development, 3D modeling, structural planning, fabrication, factory trial assembly, packing, and installation guidance.
Our project portfolio includes private gardens, churches, hotels, commercial developments and public parks in different countries.

Start With Whatever You Have
One of the most common questions we receive is:
“My design is not finished yet. Can you still help?”
Usually, yes.
Your starting information doesn’t need to be perfect. What matters is that we understand your idea and the intended use of the sculpture.
From a Photo
A photograph can be used to develop a portrait, memorial figure, pet sculpture, animal statue or other realistic subject.
For a portrait, multiple photographs are better than one whenever possible.
Helpful references include:
-
front and side views
-
three-quarter views
-
full-body photographs
-
clothing or uniform references
-
height information
-
important accessories or personal details
Older photographs can also be used. If some details are unclear, additional family photographs or descriptions may help us understand the subject.
From a Sketch or Drawing
Artists, architects and designers often contact us with sketches or concept drawings.
We can review the form, dimensions, material, and fabrication requirements, then help develop the design into a practical sculpture.
This is especially useful when the artistic concept is clear, but production details have not yet been solved.

From a 3D Model or CAD File
For contemporary and large-scale sculpture, a 3D file can make project development faster.
It allows our team to check proportions, dimensions, segmentation, internal structure and how the sculpture may be manufactured.
For some large projects, we also create or refine 3D models and use full-scale foam models before final metal fabrication.

From a Reference Artwork
A reference image can help explain the artistic direction, proportion, pose, or feeling you want.
If the reference is an existing artwork, we first need to understand whether you want to develop an original sculpture inspired by that direction or whether you have the appropriate rights to reproduce a specific design.
This is especially important when artists, galleries, or commercial clients are involved.
From an Idea Only
Sometimes the starting point is only a sentence:
“I want a sculpture about growth for our company entrance.”
“We need a landmark for the center of our hotel garden.”
“I want to make a memorial for my father.”
That is still enough to begin a discussion.
Tell us the purpose, location, approximate scale, preferred style, and budget direction. We can then help turn the idea into a more workable sculpture concept.

What Can Be Customized?
Most parts of a sculpture can be adjusted to suit the project.
Size and scale: from smaller decorative works and portrait busts to life-size figures and monumental outdoor sculpture.
Material: bronze, natural marble, and stainless steel are our main custom sculpture materials.
Pose and composition: body position, direction, movement, number of figures, and the relationship between different elements.
Facial features and details: expression, hairstyle, clothing, uniforms, tools, jewelry, and other important details.
Color and surface finish: bronze patina, polished or natural marble surfaces, mirror-polished stainless steel, brushed finishes and selected colored finishes.
Base and inscription: pedestal design, plaques, names, dates, memorial messages and other inscriptions.
Structure and installation: large sculptures may also require customized internal structures, connection plates, anchoring systems, and installation drawings.
Which Material Is Right for Your Custom Sculpture?
There is no single material that is best for every project.
The right choice depends on the design, level of detail, location, scale, appearance, and expected maintenance.
Bronze
Bronze is one of our main choices for realistic figures, portraits, memorials, animals and detailed outdoor sculpture.
The lost-wax casting process allows fine sculptural details to be transferred from the approved model to the finished bronze. Different patinas can also create brown, black, green, and other surface effects.
Bronze is especially useful when the project needs a traditional fine-art appearance and detailed modeling.
Marble
Natural marble is often selected for classical figures, religious statues, memorial sculpture, and traditional gardens.
Unlike cast sculpture, marble is carved directly from natural stone. Each block has its own veins and characteristics, so material selection is part of the project.
For outdoor marble sculpture, the exact stone and climate should be considered rather than choosing only by color. Natural stone industry guidance also recommends evaluating the suitability of a specific stone for its intended exterior environment.
Stainless Steel
Stainless steel works especially well for abstract, contemporary, and large-scale sculpture.
It can be formed into simple geometric designs or complex flowing shapes and can be finished with a mirror-polished, brushed or colored surface.
For outdoor projects, we commonly work with 304 or 316 stainless steel depending on the environment. Site conditions matter. Coastal areas, swimming pools and other environments with higher salt or chemical exposure may require a more corrosion-resistant grade.
Industry guidance from the Nickel Institute similarly recommends selecting stainless steel grades according to the actual exposure conditions rather than treating every outdoor location the same.
Not sure which material is right? Send us the design, approximate size and installation location. We can recommend a suitable option.

How Our Custom Sculpture Service Works
We keep the process clear so clients can review the important stages before final production.
1. Send Your Idea
Send photographs, sketches, drawings, 3D files, or other references together with the approximate size and installation location.
2. Project Review
Our team reviews the design, material, scale, production difficulty, and installation conditions.
If necessary, we may suggest changes that make the sculpture easier to manufacture, more durable outdoors, or more suitable for the space.
3. Design or Model Approval
Depending on the material, the approval stage may involve a clay model, 3D model, drawing, or full-scale foam model.
This is one of the most important parts of custom production because it allows major details to be corrected before final fabrication or carving.
4. Production
After approval, the sculpture enters the appropriate production process.
Bronze is cast, marble is hand-carved, and stainless steel is formed and welded according to the approved design.
5. Quality Review
Photos and videos can be provided during important production stages.
Before packing, we check the sculpture’s dimensions, details, finish, and other project-specific requirements.
6. Packing, Shipping and Installation Support
We provide export packing for international delivery and can prepare installation drawings or connection guidance when required.
Large or multi-part sculptures may also be trial assembled at the factory before shipment.
If you want a detailed explanation of quotation, approvals, production time, cost, shipping, and installation, read our How to Commission a Custom Sculpture: Process, Timeline & Tips guide.

Real Custom Sculpture Projects
Real projects are the clearest way to show what custom manufacturing involves. Here are three different examples from our recent work.
Artist-Commissioned Bronze Sculpture: The Dior Goddess
In 2025, Kazakhstani sculptor Bolat Muhamediev worked with YouFine to produce a 3.1-meter bronze sculpture of model Alla Ilchun.
This was not a standard sculpture selected from a catalog. The artist was closely involved in the project and visited the factory during production.
A full clay model was developed and refined before the sculpture entered the bronze casting process. The wax stage, welding, polishing and patina were also reviewed before completion.
This project shows how our foundry can work with professional artists who already have a clear artistic concept but need an experienced production team to turn it into a large finished bronze sculpture.

Custom Marble Couple Sculpture for a US Client
A private client in the United States commissioned a marble couple sculpture to celebrate a lifelong relationship.
Projects like this are very different from producing a standard classical statue. The sculpture needs to express the people and story that matter to the client.
Our marble team used the client’s references to develop the composition and carve the final work in natural stone.
This type of commission is a good example of how personal photographs and memories can become a permanent custom artwork.

11 Custom Stainless Steel Sculptures for a Moscow Park
For a public park project in Moscow, YouFine produced 11 custom stainless steel sculptures, including large works approximately 4 to 6 meters high.
Because the sculptures were permanent outdoor installations, the project involved much more than surface appearance. The team worked on 3D development, dimensions, structural considerations, fabrication, quality control, packing and installation guidance.
Some sculptures were positioned around water features, so material selection and long-term outdoor performance were also important.
This project shows our ability to move from a design concept to a coordinated group of large public sculptures.

Why Work With YouFine for a Custom Sculpture?
Sculpture Manufacturing Since 1983
YouFine was founded in 1983 in Quyang County, Hebei Province, an area known for sculpture production.
Today our factory works across bronze casting, marble carving, and stainless steel fabrication.
This means we can recommend materials according to the project rather than trying to make every design in the same material.
Sculptors, Designers and Production Teams
A custom project often requires more than one type of expertise.
Portrait projects need experienced sculptors. Large stainless steel work may require 3D designers, fabricators, and structural planning. Marble projects depend heavily on stone selection and experienced hand carving.
Our goal is to connect these skills during the same project.
Approval Before Important Production Stages
We prefer clients to review important details before they become difficult or expensive to change.
Depending on the sculpture, this may include:
-
clay model approval
-
3D model confirmation
-
foam model confirmation
-
rough marble carving review
-
finish samples
-
production photographs and videos
-
factory trial assembly
This gives both sides a clear reference for the finished work.
Factory Production and Quality Control
Because we manufacture sculpture rather than only sourcing finished products, clients can review how a project develops inside the factory.
For large or complex work, quality checks may include dimensions, surface details, welding, polishing, structural connections and trial assembly.
Worldwide Delivery and Installation Support
Custom sculptures can be heavy, fragile or oversized.
Packing and installation therefore need to be considered as part of the project rather than after the sculpture is finished.
Depending on the project, we can provide custom packing, loading plans, installation drawings, connection details and technical support.

Frequently Asked Questions About Custom Sculpture
Can you make a custom sculpture from a photo?
Yes. Photographs are commonly used for portrait figures, busts, memorial sculptures, and animals. Several clear views are best when likeness is important.
Can you help if I only have an idea?
Yes. A finished drawing is not required to start. Tell us the purpose, installation location, approximate size, and style you want, and we can discuss how to develop the concept.
What materials can I choose?
Our main custom materials are bronze, natural marble, and stainless steel. The best choice depends on the design, detail, scale, and installation environment.
Can the size, pose and finish be changed?
Yes. Size, pose, composition, surface finish, color, base, and many details can be customized.
Can you make life-size and monumental sculptures?
Yes. We work on individual life-size statues as well as multi-meter and multi-piece public sculpture projects.
Can you manufacture a sculpture designed by an artist or architect?
Yes. We work with artists, architects, and designers who provide sketches, drawings, renderings, CAD files, or 3D models. Design ownership and reproduction rights should be clear before production begins.
Can I review the sculpture during production?
Yes. The exact review points depend on the material. Clay models, 3D models, rough carving, production photos, videos, and trial assembly may be used at different stages.
How long does a custom sculpture take?
The schedule depends on the material, size, complexity, and approval process. A small or straightforward sculpture can be completed much faster than a monumental or multi-figure project.
