Custom Bronze Samuel Fritz Statue Successfully Installed in Peru

This custom bronze Samuel Fritz statue was made for a Peruvian client to honor Samuel Fritz for his great contribution to a small town in Peru. The height of the entire custom bronze statue is 206 cm, and the statue was finally installed in the central plaza of the town of Omaguas.

Who Is Samuel Fritz?

Samuel Fritz is a Czech Jesuit missionary, famous for his exploration of the Amazon River and its basin. He spent most of his life preaching to indigenous communities in the western Amazon region, including Omaguas, Yurimaguas, Aisuare, Ibanomas, and Ticunas. In 1707, he drew the first accurate map of the Amazon River and determined the source of the Maranón River.

He is proficient in technical arts and handicrafts. He is also a doctor, painter, carpenter, and linguist, and he is good at interacting with Indians. He was very efficient and respected by the local people, and helped in the border dispute between the Peruvian Government House and Brazil.
