The Fearless Girl is not trying to harm the bull. She is simply unafraid of it.

By embarking on the problem of this statue becoming the second issue, Wall Street, the nation’s financial power, has some of the lowest female participation. Traditionally, the financial world and its growth was an exclusive area of men.

Even on a personal front, women have less income than men, and the income of many households is treated as a secondary. A girl without fear symbolizes many women who want to join the economy eagerly, making wealth, owning and managing. They are no longer ashamed of the bull, and certainly do not want to hurt. They wanted to feed the economy as an extension to him, playing with him.

The bull isn’t supposed to be charging at a girl; it’s not supposed to be directly charging at anything. It works as a symbol of strength and power because it has (had) no physical directive for its charging, leaving it up to interpretation as being against larger, more conceptual “opponents.”

The “Fearless Girl” is supposed to represent the influence of women on corporate boards. It is a statement of recognition of the value that women contribute to the economy and the businesses that they participate in.Clearly, the biggest economic detractor that plagues our nation, is the exclusionary nature of the economy itself. The more participation in the economy we have, by everyone, the better it is for all of us.

Fearless girl was unveiled the day before International Women’s Day, 2017. As such, it obviously has the purpose of promoting International Women’s day.

The “Girl” statue has only become famous because of its relation to the “Bull”, by effectively becoming half of a two-part installation, completely without the consent of the original artist. The “Girl” on it’s own is very run-of-the-mill, and would not have got any attention if it was sited somewhere else and made to stand on its own merit.
